Daddy's girl learned fast....

a little bit more Runaways work tonight before Heroes. I don't really know why I'm still watching this show, it hasn't been good for a while.....save for 1 or 2 recent episodes.

Oooooooo....She's a little Runaway...

So I've kind of been stuck in a creative rut for the last week and a half or so. I just didn't have motivation to do ANYTHING. And I haven't. I haven't really felt it come back at all, but I needed to get back into it. I finally sat down and started some sequential page practice. Above is a page from Michael Ryan's run on Runaways. I'm not sure who inked it though. Originally this was colored by the amazing Christina Strain. I purchased the original page at the 2009 NY Comic Con, so I was able to do a high-res scan for practice. I'm just kind of making it up as I go along, although fragments of it are from memory of the original colors. I have one more page from this series to color, and a bunch of Terry Dodson X-Men pages too. The speed at which I'm working on these has increased greatly. I'm sure if I didn't get distracted a bunch of times today, I'd have finished this piece already. I just gotta keep pluging away until I get my groove back.

Almost done. Lasso, Lips, and eyes left.

Little bit more work on Diana. She's coming along nicely. I did a little texturing on the shield and armor to give it a bit of a battle worn appearance. I'm hoping to have this done before I go to the dentist today. UGH....the dentist.

I finished up that Spider-Man cover, you can head on over to my deviantART page to check it out. I haven't done anything else with the sequential pages yet, I got distracted by another awesome pinup. I've really gotta stop doing that. This one is a Wonder Woman piece, by Francis Manapul. I started with the backgrounds then did the golds first. I really wanted to make sure they pop, I think I'm really starting to get the hang of metallics. Well gold metallics at least. I'm gonna try and finish her up tomorrow and REALLY get to the sequential pages.

Spider-Man!

I realized I haven't updated in like a week and should throw up some shots of what I'm working on. I just flatted this cover for MA Spider-Man #44 by Zach Howard. Started the coloring this morning. I'm also flatting a couple Runaways sequential pages by Michael Ryan and a few Uncanny X-Men pages by Terry Dodson, hopefully I'll get to start on those today.

This is the first WIP shot of the colors

And these are the flats for the piece. You might be able to see from the flats that I intend on keeping the background fairly simple for this piece.
